Eight Ways to Overcome Adversity in Fitness

Many of us have gotten to that point in our fitness journey where we’re in a really big slump. Whether it’s from work, a family emergency, vacation, or partying too much, we know when we reach this point, and know we have to get back into shape. Here are ten ways to ease back into your fitness lifestyle.

1. EASE back into the fitness lifestyle. Whenever I used to hit a slump, I would always jump right back into going to the gym 5 times a week, and eating 6 clean meals per day. This was too much for me, and I inevitably failed miserably. I wanted to gain muscle but I was actually overtraining my body so I was taking steps backwards instead.

2. Make dietary changes slowly. First cut out all simple sugars and sodas. Then, slowly ease back into eating 6 meals per day, and then slowly make all those meals of the ideal macronutrient composition.

3. Read about and come up with an all new weightlifting regimen. This will inspire you and cause you to want to go back to the gym. Write out a schedule on paper and this will cement this newfound excitement.

4. Change up your diet. Try Keto, the anabolic diet, the cut diet, or any one of the numerous styles of eating to gain muscle or lose fat out there.

5. Try a new supplement. For me, one of these supplements was a pre-workout product by Controlled Labs called “White Flood”. This shit is potent. After taking 2 scoops, I’d drive to the gym extremely motivated to lift. When I’d get there I’d have more energy and be way stronger than normal. Veins I didn’t even knew existed were popping out of my arms, causing me to grin from ear to ear.

6. Take away the thing that is causing the slump. For me, certain friends cause me to fall into slumps. I tend to not hang out with these friends as much when I am trying to get back into shape.

7. Slowly introduce cardio back into your routine. Cardio is great. Not only does it help you get ripped, it can also help you keep fat off during a mass gain or “bulking” phase. Also, the cardiovascular and health benefits are widely known. My favorite thing about cardio is the absolute buzz you get from stepping off the treadmill after 30 minutes of anything, even something as light as walking.

8. If you don’t already, start drinking a post-workout shake with whey protein. Something like Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey, or GNC’s new Wheybolic Extreme are awesome choices for post-workout drinks. This protein will help enhance your recovery and gains, causing even more motivation to overcome any slump.

Beginner Treadmill Workouts For Weight Loss

Treadmills have come a long way over the years. From a flat roller that was manually powered to the latest offerings which are motorized and include an incline belt surface, LED display panels showing you a heap of information about your workout, heart rate monitors, and some are even programmable so you can change intensity levels to simulate hill training.

Benefits of the treadmill.
There are a number of significant benefits to owning and training on a treadmill. First of all, you can workout no matter what the weather is doing outside. They are normally very quite, so there is very little disturbance to anyone else. The treadmills are usually relatively portable, so they can be easily stored, or hidden away. Many of the better treadmills have a grip heart rate monitor that can show you your current heart rate, and an LED display so you can see how long you have been exercising, distance covered and calories burned.

Treadmill for Weight Loss.
For people looking for a great exercise to lose weight, the treadmill is one of the best. It allows you to raise your heart rate into the fat burning zone in a controlled environment, which makes it easy to monitor your heart rate and vary your intensity accordingly.

Here are a couple of treadmill workouts to spice it up a little. Set the incline of the treadmill at 1% just to simulate wind resistance.

Beginner Treadmill workout 1
For the first routine, do a 10 minute warm up. Make sure your heart rate does not exceed 60% of your maximum heart rate threshold during this period. After your warm up, increase intensity for 1 minute to 70-80%, then recover for two minutes. Repeat this set 10 times, for a total of 30 minutes. Do a warm down for 10 minutes.

Use this routine to increase your fitness level. As you get fitter, increase your intensity.

Treadmill workout for weight loss
For the second treadmill workout, warm up for 10 minutes. Sprint for 8 seconds, then recover for 12 seconds. Repeat for as long as you can, or a maximum of 10 minutes. Build up to 20 minutes of intervals. This type of interval training is great for losing weight, but is hard on the body, so definitely don’t do interval training two days in a row.

The University of NSW conducted a test on 2 groups of 20 overweight women and found that the above interval workout burns fat 3 times faster than exercise done at a constant rate, and the above routine was done for 20 minutes compared to the other group training for 40 minutes. That’s one effective workout! The test was done on a stationary bike, but the treadmill can be just as effective if used at the same intensity.

Checkout this selection of treadmill workouts for beginners to advanced with links to calculate your optimum fat burning heart rate. While you are there grab the free 4 week exercise program.

Why The New Supplement "Stemulite" Works For Improving Your Fitness

With thousands of dietary supplements and fitness products available on the market, it’s hard to determine what really works – and what doesn’t. Bodybuilders, athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages need a fine-tuned nutrition and supplementation program in order to stay healthy, especially during periods of intensive training and workouts that break down muscle tissues. Stemulite is one of the latest formulas available, a unique, all-natural blend of ingredients that can help improve muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness levels.

Each Stemulite formula for men and women contains key ingredients linked to improved metabolic function, improving the cellular repair process, and increasing protein synthesis. Some of the ingredients also have powerful antioxidant properties that help eliminate toxins from the body and strengthen the body’s immune system. If you’ve been searching for a potent, powerful and natural dietary supplement to complement your fitness routine, here’s why you need to consider Stemulite as an addition to your lifestyle:

Stemulite helps repair muscles – after an intensive workout, muscle tissues can begin to break down if there is not enough protein available for repair. Most athletes and fitness enthusiasts need to take a protein supplement or other dietary aid to prevent muscle tissue breakdown from occurring, but Stemulite contains important ingredients such as alpha lipoic acid and stem cell extracts that increase muscle regeneration and reduce the risk of muscle loss. Instead of counting on amino acid and protein supplementation that can overload the body, Stemulite helps with protein synthesis and encouraging healthy muscle cell growth.

Stemulite helps improve strength and endurance – the addition of Indium, a rare earth mineral that has been used for several years in modern medicine, can help stimulate human growth hormone (hGH) to promote muscle gains. This can help any bodybuilder or athlete build lean muscle with ease, and when Stemulite is combined with a challenging exercise routine that increases muscle mass, an improvement in stamina and strength is often the result.

Stemulite helps repair the body overnight – sleep is essential for muscle and tissue repair, but few people get enough quality sleep to ensure the body undergoes its natural repair processes on a regular basis. The Stemulite night formula helps the body recover and repair itself during the most important stage of sleep – the REM stage – so that proteins and other nutrients can be processed efficiently and effectively. Indium also helps with this process, ensuring that muscle tissues and fibers are restored after a stressful day or intensive workout.

Stemulite boosts the metabolism – many people turn to weight loss supplements and metabolic boosters to increase energy and stimulate weight loss. Unfortunately, most metabolic boosters have several dangerous side effects and do not provide consistent results with ongoing use. Stemulite contains natural ingredients that support a healthy metabolism, and this can trigger a fat loss cycle relatively easily.

If you’ve been struggling with a sluggish metabolism and aren’t able to increase muscle strength with your diet and workout routine, using a stem cell-based supplement can help. Stemulite offers several benefits for men and women of all fitness levels improve strength, stamina and endurance, increasing muscle repair, and increasing fat loss. It may be a valuable weight loss supplement and dietary aid for bodysculpting, toning, and improving performance in any athletic activity.

Everyday more people are discovering how Stemulite for men is helping to improve their workouts, weight loss, and quality of sleep. Stemulite for women is also available and can be found at http://www.TrueHealthyProducts.com

Buy Home Fitness Exercise Equipment That Fits You

While selecting home fitness exercise equipment may look simple, there are actually a few factors that you need to consider before you take it home or it arrives at your door.that. The factors that really affect your purchase include:

1. What Are Your Goals?

When purchasing home exercise equipment, the biggest factor is what your fitness goals are, what your current fitness level is, and how much you are willing to spend. With this in mind, prior to simply getting a treadmill, exercise bike or an elliptical trainer you have to ask yourself, “What do I want to accomplish?” Do you desire better muscle toning, muscle building, or cardiovascular health?

Do you want to increase your strength? Are you looking to have more energy throughout the day? If you take the time to answer these questions prior to making a purchase, you are more likely to get the exercise equipment that will meet your needs.

2. What Is Your Budget For Home Fitness Exercise Equipment?

Before you go looking to make a purchase, you should know in advance exactly what you are willing to spend on your home fitness exercise equipment. There are many types of exercise equipment, all with a different price tag.

You can purchase a quality treadmill for anywhere from $1500 to $3500. If you are looking for an elliptical trainer you can expect to spend between $750 and $5000. Stationary bikes of reasonable quality cost between $300 to over $1500. Due to the fact that “you get what you pay for,” you will want to make sure you balance the price you pay with the features and usability you get the model you are choosing.

Remember:

Just because you have a credit card with a limit high enough to buy $1000 elliptical trainer or a $3000 treadmill, does not mean you can actually afford to buy it. You need to look at your finances completely and determine the amount of money you can spend on your home fitness exercise equipment.

3. How much space do you have?

This is often overlooked. You have to make sure you have enough space for the fitness exercise equipment. Also make sure the exercise equipment will funciton properly in the alloted space. Almost everyone tries the equipment prior to committing to it. However, many people do not think about how much room the fitness equipment will take up. Even though you are in a store and the equipment doesn’t look that big, will it fit in the corner you have available? In order to know for sure, measure what space you have prior to going to the store. (You will want to know how much space the equipment needs whether you have an entire home gym in a room or if you only have a small space to use in your living room.)

4. Make sure you shop around

Do not settle for the first piece of equipment you find. You want to visit 2 or more websites or stores so you can compare the prices and the features of the equipment available. You may also want to do some research online to determine what the average cost and features are available for the equipment you are looking to purchase. Any time you can find a product review, take advantage of reading it.

5. Take into consideration all costs involved.

You will be surprised at how quickly transportation, shipping, installation and other associated costs can add up. Therefore, make sure you calculate all the possible costs prior to buying your home fitness exercise equipment, so you know you can afford every aspect of getting it and having it ready to use.

Benefits of Fitness Training For Women

Artificial chemicals in everyday meal and junk foods consumed daily have major negative effect on our health. Many different kinds of diseases and sicknesses are found these days that were unheard of previously. As a result of this, it is important for women to understand the benefits of fitness training and what it can do to change their lives. Fitness training is directly linked to a healthy body and healthy heart and is gaining lot popularity in many parts of the world today.

There are numerous benefits of fitness training. The first and the most important benefit is that it helps women to manage their weight. Women are always scared of putting on weight and they always want to be able to wear skinny leggings and tight clothing. Fitness training helps you to keep the desired body shape and if you are a little plump and need to shed few extra pounds, then fitness training is the answer. Fitness training helps you to develop lean muscles and burn more calories which would otherwise be stored in the body as fats.

Another benefit is that it helps to cut down those flabby meats which are usually seen hanging on the arms. Skinny women also have flabby arms and this is all because they don not perform exercises and they lack lean muscles. By doing a little bit of light weight lifting, you can always tone your skin and muscles and get rid of those flabby meats on the arms.

It has also been revealed that fitness training reduces the risk of getting heart diseases. It is not essential for women to run a marathon daily but light exercises can be really beneficial in terms of reducing symptoms of serious diseases and health conditions. Moreover, more vigorous training leads to reduced cholesterol levels and increased metabolism which is a positive point for health and aids in weight loss.

Regular fitness training also gives increased strength. Women need strength to handle daily chores, laundry and groceries and it also prevents injuries such as lower back injury and muscle pains. These reasons should surely be enough to get all women out there perform some fitness exercises daily.

Know Your Muscle Building Exercises – The Chest

Every bodybuilder and weight trainer will have his or her favorite exercises for each body part. That’s how it should be – as you progress through the various stages of learning you’ll understand what works best for you. It is useful, however, to take stock of your progress every so often and carry out an analysis of where you are and what changes, if any, are needed to move onwards and upwards.

Part of this analysis should include an assessment of the core exercises that make up your bodybuilding training program. In this article we’ll look at the chest exercises that have proven their worth to serious bodybuilders for many years. Where appropriate a series of exercises suitable for achieving pre-exhaustion will be presented. All exercises should be performed to failure with one set of six to eight reps.

1. Dumbbell flyes – this exercise provides a useful means of isolating the pectorals and preserving the triceps for the subsequent exercise. The exercise should be performed as follows:

- Hold dumbbells directly overhead.

- Lower them to sides with elbows slightly bent, pulled back and to the side. Lower no further than level with the torso.

- Use the pectorals to pull the weights back up to the starting position.

2. Incline bench press – you can move straight on to this exercise if you have reached an appropriate level of experience. If you perform this exercise as the second part of a pre-exhaust routine you may have to use lighter weights than normally.

- Take a shoulder width grip.

- Lower the bar to the chest with the elbows pointed to the side.

- Return to the starting position.

Elliptical Trainers And Treadmills Provide Quality Fitness Opportunities

Elliptical trainers are slowly becoming more popular than the traditional treadmill in many fitness centers. They are both excellent tools for getting a good cardio fitness workout. However there are some significant differences in these fitness machines and what they accomplish. If you are in the market to purchase a good aerobic trainer, knowing these differences can assist you in your decision making.

Elliptical trainers are very popular due the almost total lack of body impact with the ground. This is very important for people with damaged joints or suffering from arthritis. Treadmills are harder on your joints and many fitness professionals and physical therapist have concluded that you are better off doing your exercise outside. Treadmills have a problem that is little talked about but can be serious if you have joint problems. When your foot hits the belt on the treadmill the belt slips forward. Many times this is because the treadmill is improperly maintained. However this slip forward can cause knee stress and problems.

Elliptical trainers can also cause problems it the trainer does not have a long enough stride for people with long legs and if the pedals do not adjust to your natural foot position. The motion of an elliptical trainer has been compared to running on air. However it is poor training for marathon runners as the motion is relatively unnatural. In this case with good joint health a treadmill would certainly be a better choice.

Elliptical trainers have been hyped for there ability to give the users a better aerobic workout with less perceived effort. They give the user an opportunity to do an upper body workout at the same time as a lower body fitness routine. Basically this means you have the potential to burn more calories using an elliptical trainer during the same period of time than if you were exercising on a treadmill. It goes without saying you will still have to do some strength training to get a complete upper body work out but given that time is a premium this is better than no upper body workout.

Elliptical trainers are a favorite tool for many physical therapists when rehabilitating hip and leg joints. Exercise physiologist also use them when working with elderly patients. One drawback to ellipticals is their height. People with balance problems or fear of falling are not good candidates for elliptical trainers.

Elliptical trainers have an additional feature that make them a unique fitness machine and that is the ability to go backwards. At first you may think this is no big deal but if you do an exercise routine in reverse your quadriceps will some be notifying you of your error. If you have a Life Fitness elliptical trainer you have the ability to change the angle or incline which will further provide exercise benefits. Different exercise programs and features reduce exercise boredom, which means you will more likely continue your exercise and fitness efforts.

Treadmills are great if you are young, fit and without joint problems. They are especially suited for distance runners. However the newer elliptical trainers have taken over in many fitness centers. Ellipticals ability to give you a high intensity upper and lower body workout while protecting your joints has drawn rave reviews. Now may be the time to take an elliptical trainer for a test ride and see if you agree that provide a quality exercise routine.

If you need additional information on elliptical trainers visit our website at http://www.elliptical-trainer-information.com We have reviews on Reebok, Horizon, Nordic Track, Life Fitness, ProForm, TunTuri, Nautilus and Schwinn elliptical trainers.

Fitness Boot Camp – The Current Trend of Fitness Boot Camps

The goal of these boot camps is to help people lose body fat and to also help them gain more efficient cardiovascular conditions, increase their strength, while having them get used to a routine exercise. This is important since a lot of people will not be able to get into a routine exercise all by themselves. What they need it to get pushed into a program and this is what fitness boot camp is all about.

Now, when comparing it to a military camp, the fitness program basically has all the similar elements. People train hard all day and they help each other through team efforts as well. Of course, these programs are designed in such a way that they push people farther than usual programs would. So why are they so popular when people are pushed into getting fit? That’s exactly the answer to the question: people want to get fit so that they can lead healthier lives.

The fitness camps are not always held at actual camp sites although there are still some groups that do that to get the feel of an actual boot camp. It can also be held in other places as long as the activities are held outdoors like in parks. The activities in current boot camps are basic as physical trainers will put participants through gruelling routines like push ups, squats, and suspension training, while throwing in activities that will involve a lot of running.

These days, it is not at all odd to have trainers even organize a few games to get people into the competitive spirit of things. The important thing is that everyone who participates does participate and that they will start to each work their own way into an exercise routine that they are comfortable with doing. People will usually pair up or be placed in small groups of three to five people when it comes to game organization.

The games are an essential part of fitness boot camp. This is something that has been emphasized over the past few years that the whole idea has been in place. People get together not just to get fit and to lose weight but they can also provide each other with the social support that is required so that they can all get the same results. There are some who can adjust well to the activities that are presented to them but there are also others who will be slightly hard headed and this is where the team activities can really help them out.

So why not go to a gym? The trend these days seems like everyone is going to the gym. But that is not the case, surprisingly. Fitness boot camps are actually becoming even more popular because of their settings and because of the different personalities that get together to help each other out. A gym can become boring and not strict enough on the people who attend. But when it comes to fitness boot camps, everyone is forced to join in the exciting activities; including the trainers themselves.

Fitness boot camps can last anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks and one can expect the usual exercises like jogging, sprinting, plyometrics, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, and all sorts of calisthenic exercises. But each fitness boot camp also promises something new and physical trainers are always looking for fun new ways for their trainees to get fit. The advantage of this kind of setting is that it will really get people motivated into getting fit and in the city setting this is something that is really needed because people rarely have the time to exercise.

So the next time that you see any advertisements for a fitness boot camp, think about how much of a routine you have made for yourself when it comes to exercise. You just might need to join a weight loss program yourself. There is definitely no shame in doing so and you will be surprised with the trends in fitness that the gyms and trainers involved will bring to the table for participants. All they need is your decision to participate.

Ryan, a former collegiate baseball player at Armstrong Atlantic State University and Southern Polytechnic State University, Ryan, a fitness boot camp instructor at Step It Up Fitness boot camp Atlanta GA.
