Comparison of Waxing and Sugaring
Waxing and Sugaring are very similar in the way they work. Both of these hair removal methods have been used for centuries by both men and women to remove unwanted hair. Sugaring has been around for thousands of years in the middle east and asia.
Sugaring
The sugaring process involves making a so called wax from a combination of sugar, water, and lemon juice and then using this mixture to remove unwanted hair. The sugaring ingredients and equipment are cheap, environmentally friendly and universally available which is an advantage for those looking for a homemade formula. Because of the similarities to regular waxing the sugaring method is often referred to as sugar waxing, although as indicated above it does not include wax.
Although the sugar wax fixes itself strongly to hair folicles it does not adhere to the skin as strongly as normal wax. Women who have used both methods at the same time say that the sugaring method is much less painful. It results in less soreness and tender skin than waxing so people with sensitive skin often prefer this method.
A cloth soaked in warm water is all that is required to clean up after sugaring. It doesn’t get any easier. Any leftovers can be eate, saved for reuse, or safely disposed of! It is simply a type of sugar candy.
Waxing
Waxing involves heating a wax compound which is then applied to the hair to be removed. Hair removal wax is usually available from various retail stores for about twenty to thirty dollars. You can also buy it from stores as a kit complete with accessories.
The process of applying the wax and removing hair is the same as for sugaring. The warm wax tends to stick to to skin as well as hair so the removal process is more painful and temporarily leaves red marks and bumps.
Wax is a bit messier in that it is harder to clean up after yourself once you are finished.
Both Methods
Both methods are designed to remove hair by the root so that when it grows back there will be less of it and it will be softer and less obvious. You can avoid problems like cuts, scrapes, and ingrown hair caused through shaving.
Waxing and sugaring are the type of hair removal you can do by yourself in the privacy of your own home or you can go to a beauty salon that provides these services.
